Black Forest Trifle

1 package devil's food cake

2 bars milk chocolate candy

1 can cherry pie filling*

1 teaspoon almond extract

1/2 cup cranberry cherry juice

2 cups cold milk

2 packages (3.3 ounces) vanilla instant pudding & pie filling*

1 container frozen whipped topping, thawed (8 ounces)

1. make cake according to package, cool completely

2. cut cake into 1-inch cubes if making trifle - I just cut the cake in half and layered everything

3. combine cherry pie filling and almond extract, save 1/2 cup for garnishing, then add cranberry juice (not to garnishing cherries)

4. in seperate bowl mix pudding & milk until it starts to thicken & then fold in whipped topping

5. chop up chocolate bars

6. layer cake, cherries, chocolate, pudding then repeat layers. Garnish with cherries & chocolate

*I doubled the pudding mixture & cherries in my cake
